Picture exposed brick, cool lighting and red and yellow bar stools around long wooded tables with small glass coke bottles containing olive oil and vinegar. Bar style seating at the large glass window makes for superb views of the sea and surfers in it. This is Tiger’s Milk in Muizenberg which is on the first floor and overlooks Surfer’s Corner. The grilled line fish I ordered was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth, not something that I am able to say about many restaurants when it comes to ordering fish. Other items on the menu include spicy chicken wings with a celery and blue cheese sauce, BBQ pork ribs with chips or side salad and an array of mouth watering hamburgers. I love the whole vibe of this place from the branded paper that the ribs and burgers arrive on to the trendy atmosphere and of course the amazing view of the ocean. A definite summer spot to sip on a cocktail and munch on some sticky ribs while watching the sun go down. Oh and just in case you’re wondering, the name Tiger’s Milk is a Peruvian term (Leche de tigre) for a citrus-based marinade that cures the seafood in a ceviche.
